Mark Reiff

"My philosophy when I searched the United States for the right 17 year old athlete to contribute to a successful collegiate track team is very similar to the philosophy I use to recruit the right executives for technology companies today. The way the team fits together is of critical importance to its success."

Mark Reiff represents Lonergan Partners for senior executive search projects in the areas of Telecommunications, Information Technologies, Software and Board positions.  Mark has placed CEOs, Board members and senior management at a variety of public and substantial private companies, including:  OpenWave [NASDAQ: OPWV], Aprimo Software, Bitwave, Wireless Telecom Group [NASDAQ: WTT] , Looksmart [NASDAQ: LOOK], Rubicon [NASDAQ: RBCN] and many others.

Mark brings ten years of executive recruiting experience in addition to twenty years of collegiate sports coaching and recruiting to the firm.  Mark believes that recruiting the right leadership for senior management in high-tech areas requires getting to know the candidates beyond a portfolio of skills and attributes.

Prior to joining Lonergan Partners, Mark was a Partner for three years at Heidrick & Struggles in the firm’s Silicon Valley offices.  Working with Managing Partner Mark Lonergan, Mark conducted a variety of senior executive projects in technology and sports management markets.

Prior to executive recruiting, Mark was the Men’s Coordinator, Track and Field, at Stanford University. During this period, Stanford Athletics garnered the Sears Cups every year as the most successful NCAA Division I athletic program.  Additionally, he served as Head Coach of the U.S. Olympic Festival East Team in 1987 and as Athlete Liaison, Track and Field, at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.  During Mark’s career in Athletics, he worked with some of the legendary coaches in the game:  Bobby Knight (Indiana), Carm Cozza (Yale), George Allen (Long Beach State) and Bill Walsh (Stanford).
